Clugston construction refurbished a residential tower block in Huddersfield town centre. The glazing was triple glazed SKN165 high performance solar control glass with warm edge and Krypton gas fill. This was a £50k project with tight production and delivery schedules. The high performance glazing was part of a total ‘energy’ solution for the building.
The new line is a replacement line for one of the older robotic production lines. As part of ongoing investment, Glasscraft required a glasswasher for the offline decorative and shaped products. An Atlantic 1.6m washer fitted the requirements and complements the offline production area.
Not all sealed units can be gas filled on line. With increased volume of many shaped/decorative units we needed to increase and upgrade our off line gas filling capacity and invested in 2 Innagas Smartfill 2 off line gas filling machines.
Krypton gas is used in high performance glazing. Krypton performs best in narrow cavities – 8mm – 12mm, and can help achieve lower U-values than Argon in these specific types of glazing.
